Braised Tofu

I am always searching for easy recipes that I can cook at home and bring to work. This recipe that I found on Pinterest is so easy to make with only a few ingredients. Also, tofu is a great alternative for meat and a good source of protein. I got this recipe from KiranTarun.com however, I did not include all the ingredients that she used.

Wedding Bells: Bamboo Organ Church (Booked!)

Can I just say that planning a wedding is difficult AND expensive! Between mommy duties and work, I barely have free time to organize things. Since we started working on this late, we didn't have the luxury to have as many options as we like. The husband to be and I was only able to check 2 venues for the church. One is in Malate Church and Bamboo Organ Church (St. Joseph Parish) in Las Pinas, as suggested by my mom. After a few discussions, we went with Bamboo Organ Church even if it's a bit more expensive than Malate Church. And since we're staying in Paranaque, we opted for the one that's near our place.

Garlic Butter Shrimp (Dampa style)

My ultimate favorite! When I was pregnant, I tried to eat shrimps and I regretted it! I was never allergic to seafood so I thought it's okay. The result? My body, especially my tummy area, itched like hell! And yes, hello to stretchmarks! :( Although I'm not sure if there are any medical studies about having allergic reactions to seafood while pregnant, I just can't resist! Soooo yummy!

Filipino Lasagna

Lasagna is one of those dishes that is really tedious to make but definitely worth the effort. I got this recipe from my mom which I had some ingredients altered since I don't want my pasta to have so many stuff in it. Yep, just the plain ol' meat and cheese ;) Here are the ingredients that I used:

1 box of lasagna noodles (enough for 2 large baking dishes)
Grated quick melt cheese and parsely, as toppings

Bolognese or Meat sauce:
1 large pack of Del Monte spaghetti sauce (Italian style)
1 head of onion
5 cloves garlic
3/4 kilo ground round
1 large can of sliced mushrooms, separate the water and set aside
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp dried basil leaves
salt and pepper to taste
Maggi Magic Sarap

Bechamel sauce:
2 cans evaporated milk
1 cup butter
1/4 tsp nutmeg
2/3 cup all purpose flour
3 cups water

Guinataang Langka (Young Jackfruit Curry)

Being a working mom, I always look forward to weekends since it's the only time that I get to cook a lot and experiment in the kitchen. Here's what I made last weekend (with left overs I saved for Monday's baon). Guinataang Langka.

Wee Nam Kee dinner at Glorietta1

D and I were both feeling sick and we thought Chinese food would be a perfect treat. After doing errands, we searched for the newly opened branch of Wee Nam Kee in Glorietta. We had a hard time finding their spot because the branch's entrance was outside. Anyway, here's what we got.
